Area Four is a pizza restaurant located in Kendall Square. They recently opened underneath the Troy in the South End but unfortunately this location doesn't serve brunch. Not to mention, the Kendall Square location doubles as a coffee shop so it is totally acceptable to double fist an espresso and a slice of pizza at 10:30 AM 👌. The moment you walk in the aroma of pizza immediately makes you hungry. Little did we know, their pizza dough is fermented for 30 hours before it is transformed into a delicious masterpiece. The drink menu is phenomenal. One of the items is a ‘Brunch Flight’ that includes a Mimosa, Bloody Mary, Cider & Bitters and a Coffehouse Porter. We opted for the Bloody Mary that is made with their house mix and damn good Polish vodka. The brunch menu is of medium size offering a lot of egg options and only two sweet (French Toast and Sticky Bun). We decided to go with the Baked French Toast and the Breakfast Pizza. Both are absolutely phenomenal. The Baked French Toast is made with a thick piece of fluffy bread topped with apples, peppered pecans and whipped cream. The Breakfast Pizza is everything we wanted and more. Made with buttermilk and sour cream sauce (instead of a traditional red sauce) topped with cheddar, bacon, potato and two fried eggs. The portion sizes are fairly large and the menu is reasonably priced with everything ranging around $8-15 ($22 for a large pizza).
