City Tap is a relatively new restaurant located in the Seaport/Fort Point area. If you are a beer fanatic, then this is the place for you. City Tap offers around 100 different types of beer from local breweries and a few of their favorites from all over the world. The atmosphere is fun here – great spot to get together with friends and have a boozy day. It would be sinful if we didn’t start off our brunch with a Bloody Mary cocktail. Even though their specialty is beer, City Tap does make a mean Bloody Mary. The brunch menu is of medium size offering a lot of egg and savory options such as pizza, chicken and waffles and hushpuppies. To start, we decided to give the Oysters Kennedy a try. It is baked Welfleet oysters topped with spinach, prosciutto and parmesan cream. It’s an unusual brunch item but it is pretty damn good. The Chicken and Waffles is fantastic and the portion size is very generous. This comes with four large, deliciously fried chicken pieces and four mini waffles. It definitely cured our hangover and is worth ordering. We also tried the Roast Pork Hash and unfortunately, we were not impressed. This meal comes with crispy pork confit, smoked cheddar, sweet potato, onions, peppers topped with two poached eggs. Don’t get us wrong, it was good but the pork was fattier than what we were hoping for. The menu is reasonably priced with everything ranging between $12-16.
