Dash Café in Brighton is exactly how we want to start every morning. Sadly, their brunch menu is only available on Saturdays and they are closed Sundays, so get there while you can! Dash has a very casual atmosphere; all meals are ordered from the counter and you won’t be waited on. However, the food here is far and beyond what you’d find at any typical grab-and-go coffee shop. Choosing one meal is nearly impossible. Their menu is medium sized but the varied options (ranging from eggs benny, to lox bagels, and even to “breakfast nachos”) don’t get much better. Pictured here is the Banana Bread French Toast, which just might be the best French toast we’ve ever had. The banana bread is crispy on the outside but soft and mushy on the inside, giving it a “just-out-of-the-oven” taste, which is complimented by the banana and walnut toppings. Another plus is that the portion sizes are huge, even the side orders. The home fries are served with cooked peppers and onions, and their seasoning has a spicy kick which we love. Everything tastes deliciously fresh, and the prices are great for the high quality ingredients and size of each meal—the average dish is around $12. Although there are no “boozy” drinks here, the coffee selection is vast and very high-quality. Overall, Dash is the perfect place to start your weekend and enjoy incredible brunch food in a calm and casual atmosphere.
