In a Pickle is a known Waltham favorite for simple, diner-style breakfast food. The atmosphere isn’t great; think uncomfortable seating and fluorescent lighting. However, the restaurant makes up for that in other areas. Their menu is huge, and full of countless options for every type of brunch craving. For eggs, they have a large specialty omelet section, benedict, eggs in basket, steak & eggs, etc. For carb options...prepare to be mind-blown. Their extensive selection includes Coconut Banana French Toast, Snickers Pancakes, Reese’s Pancakes, Caramel Crunch French Toast, and MANY more. Breakfast, dessert…same thing. We opted for the All-American French Toast, which has four thick, flavorful slices of French Toast, smothered in whipped cream, strawberries, bananas, and blueberries. Fruit on top makes it healthy, right? One of the other menu items that In a Pickle is known for is The Ringer. Labeled a “belly buster”, this dish comes with eggs, home fries, choice of bacon/sausage/ham, and a choice of any of their pancake/French toast options. The food quality is all relatively average. The bacon is a bit stiff and doesn’t taste very fresh. Same with the eggs—a bit blah, and something we could easily make at home. But we love that almost every dish here can be made customizable as a “build your own”. Portion sizes aren’t overwhelmingly huge, but definitely big enough to leave you feeling full. Prices are great; although there’s a big range of dishes, most of them range from $7-$11. This is a great place to come for a simple, easy brunch experience.
