For those that are more of a fan of the “-unch” part of brunch, we went to the Lookout Tavern in Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard. With a beautiful porch overlooking the Atlantic, you have an amazing view to watch the ferry arrive and all the visitors test out their land legs. With an extensive menu, the Lookout Tavern provides a variety of surf’n’turf options ranging from sushi to sandwiches to your traditional cape fare of fresh caught seafood and shellfish. To celebrate the official kick off of summer, we ordered a variety of tacos (you get two with a choice of hard/soft shells), fried scallops and clams. Everyone’s favorite taco, hands down, is the Sauteed Lobster Taco with corn salsa, cabbage, and poblano aioli. A lighter twist on the traditional lobster roll, these tacos have a slight kick but the claw and knuckle lobster meat is still buttery and sweet. The soft taco shell to lobster ratio was perfect, and the corn salsa tops it all off. The tuna tacos are grilled to your liking (we ordered medium-rare) and are topped with an edamame rice noodle slaw and a soy ginger sauce for an asian twist. The fried scallops and clams come on a bed of french fries, and simply taste like the start of a Cape summer. The Lookout Tavern has a full service bar with seasonal draughts. Prices are steep and be ready for a wait since they do not take reservations (for parties under 6), but the summery atmosphere and ocean view are a spectacular way to brunch on Martha’s Vineyard. #brunchesofboston #brunchroyalty #DTB
