If any day of the year is an optimal day for brunching, it's the day after St. Paddy's Day. After the haze of green splendor and beer subsides, getting optimal 'eats' is always at the top of the list. We decided to try Pier Six to appease our brunch cravings. Located on one of Charlestown's piers, this restaurant is a prime spot for great views, drinks and food. We find it to be Charlestown's hidden gem, as it's off the beaten path and tucked away from the bustle of downtown Boston. The menu isn't overly robust for brunch, but don't let that fool you, there isn't one choice on the menu that doesn't look appetizing. We chose a brunch fusion combo with some great seafood, starting the dining experience with some 'chowdah' (insert Boston accent), and their choice of oysters. Needless to say, it was phenomenal! Our main brunch course was duck confit hash and hanger steak with eggs- #died. When we say the food is perfectly cooked, that's not exaggerating. The seafood is fresh, with the oysters sourced locally and the chowder is creamy with plentiful portions of clam. The steak is cooked as ordered, tender and cuts like butter. The steak and duck entrees are also seasoned well, rich, and flavorful. The menu options are on the pricier side, but the quality of food certainly matches what you are paying for!
