We were excited head sout after being invited to brunch at the Quarry Restaurant in Hingham. Their interior is sleek and modern, with high ceilings and large windows making the space very airy and open. They also have a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking a small pond, surrounded by string-lights to complete the look. For having such a charming ambiance, the brunch scene is pretty quiet. But that ended up making our experience even more serene and intimate. They have a great selection of brunch drinks, and even a tableside cart that lets you build-your-own Bloody. But if you’re all about the bubbly, we recommend the Pesca Fresca; peach, grapefruit, and prosecco make for an instant morning refresher. The menu is large and filled with mostly meat and seafood entrees, such as pork belly with grits, lobster sliders, steak and eggs, and fried chicken and waffles. We started the meal with a fresh pastry basket and the avocado toast. Their cider donut in the pastry basket is EVERYTHING; soft, moist, and smothered in sugar. For the entrée…well let’s just say turning down lobster benny isn’t one of our strong suits. In addition to the flavorful lobster, the benedict is also topped with pancetta (an awesome addition to an already perfected combo) and a hefty portion of spinach, which was actually a bit overwhelming. The homefries definitely need some work, they are under cooked and very bland. The A BLT+E sandwich is a delicious choice too; the drizzling yolk from the over-easy egg is heavenly with the avocado and crispy bacon. Everything on the menu tastes fresh and high quality. Prices are extremely fair, and range all the way from $11 to $21 depending on your meal. The fabulous service here tops everything off, making The Quarry a South Shore gem we highly recommend.
