@Union in Allston is a casual brunch spot where you can walk up to the counter and order a coffee to-go, or choose to sit and be waited on. The seating area is large and filled with classic wooden furniture/décor, making the area feel simple yet homey—great for a study spot. Despite its coffee shop vibe, the menu is huge and bursting with a diversity of tempting options like benedicts, corned beef hashes, short stacks and more. Better yet, all menu items are completely customizable, so feel free to add or swap ingredients for any order, and the wait staff will handle it with ease. They have a large selection of espresso drinks, tea, juice, smoothies, plus bottomless coffee if you dine-in. There’s even a few different mimosas—no bloodys though! Pictured here is the Crunchy French Toast, along with a custom omelet filled with avocado and pepperjack. The French toast is cooked with crushed cereal to give it the crunchy outer layer, but despite how delicious it looks, it’s nothing out of this world. The bread itself a little tough to chew through and doesn’t have a ton of flavor without the other toppings. The omelet is average as well, but we can tell that all the ingredients are extremely fresh. The homefries are perfectly crunchy and well-seasoned, and since they don’t come with every meal, we recommend ordering a side of them. Portion sizes are big, which is a nice bonus considering the prices at Union are incredible! Almost everything on the menu is under $11, aside from a few stand-out options like the lobster Benedict and steak & eggs, both around $14. Overall, come to Union for quick and casual brunch fix that won't dent the bank.
