Ward 8 is not your typical North End restaurant. It is a casual gastropub that offers classic American food with a cultivated twist. This restaurant has a great ambiance and is suitable for all ages to come for a casual cocktail or a boozy brunch. The restaurant offers a nice variety of craft cocktails such as the Ward 8 Bloody; made with their homemade Bloody mix, which is simple yet tasty. We recommend going with the bacon infused vodka - it gives off a slight spicy and smoky taste. For an added bonus, a nice crispy piece of bacon is added inside. The menu is of medium size offering a wide range of egg and sweet options. The Bacon Brie Scallion Omelette pictured here is unbelievable. The omelette is flavorful and fluffy with the perfect amount of creaminess from the Brie. Their version of homefries is phenomenal; different from our usual favorites, these are basically like potato chips with the perfect amount of seasoning and slight crispness. We can definitely tell that Ward 8 doesn’t mess around with the quality of ingredients; the food here is bomb. Prices are reasonable with a majority of the items ranging between $12-$16. However, the lobster and steak options are on the higher end. The portions are a decent size so you will leave full and extremely satisfied. One flaw is that the service is a bit questionable. The wait staff is not very attentive and some of our substitutions were ignored. Overall, Ward 8 has the three things we love the most: bacon, Bloodys and Brie.
